Obama rallies the troops at George Mason University.  Love that guy.  Related.

As you've noticed no doubt, this blog is being updated very irregularly as of late, what with our move to LA and all.  Also, since we'll be traveling March 16 - April 28 the sporadic posts will continue to be sporadic.

Don't let any of this b.s. stop you however from enjoying this New Scientist article about the Obama administration pumping huge amounts of money into science projects.

Update:  Tonya Harding slams Obama.

Obama in College 12/17/2008

Long lost photos, locked away until after the campaign, from Obama's college days.  Featured in Time magazine's "Person of the Year" issue.

So much insanity, so few words to express it at the moment.  Saw this video late last night and was kind of stunned by it.  An amazing and historic night.  All drama sapped as soon as Ohio was called, but we were glad to get the landslide.  Oprah for Secretary of the Interior.

New York Times piece on Obama's psychology pre-election

Excerpt:

"He often carries the look of exhaustion, but flying the other night to Nevada, where he arrived after midnight, Mr. Obama passed on the chance to take much of a nap.  Instead, he walked around the cabin of his airplane, which is about the size of a bedroom, and talked about a favorite diversion, the coming basketball season, as he took care not to step on a senior foreign policy adviser, Mark Lippert, who was asleep on the floor.

In the last days on the trail, he is finishing “Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the C.I.A., Afghanistan and Bin Laden,” and taking an occasional glance at US Weekly. He reads at least two newspapers a day, vigilantly checks his BlackBerry for updates on early voting tallies and browses briefing books."

Accordingly: In the Court of the Crimson King.

Smoke City, USA 06/17/2008

Bizarre, (mostly?) ironic NYT editorial that encourages Barack to take up smoking again in a bid to win over working class voters.  Excerpt: Bumming a smoke on the rope line, soiling the sleeve of his pristine suit with cigarette ash and interrupting the flow of his soaring oratory with a smoker’s hack would go a long way toward dispelling his effete image.

Obama Eats 04/01/2008

Sort of hilarious article from the NYT about the deluge of food Obama's been faced with recently on the campaign trail.  An excerpt:

Cheryl Burton offers the candidate a thick chocolate cake with white chocolate frosting. He looked at this thing, clearly a little worried; it’s only been 45 minutes since he was asked to inhale three varieties of chocolate.  “Oh man, that’s too decadent for me.”  He turns around to find a beaming waitress offering him a plastic container. Our trim candidate sighs and opens it up. There’s a burger oozing fat, those cheese fries, and brown onion rings. He shrugs, takes a ring and tosses it back.  Score one for the cholesterol lovers.
