8. Wall-E, dir. Andrew Stanton
9. Step Brothers, dir. Adam McKay
10. Synechdoche, New York, dir. Charlie Kaufman

Near miss: Burn After Reading.
Films I haven't seen that might've counted: Che, Doubt, Frozen River, W., The Wrestler, My Winnipeg.

step brothers? for realzies!?

and thank you for mentioning the overratedness of RGM. i don't know why everyone is all over it. i even almost walked out on it - not because it was bad in some meaningful way, but because it's seriously fucking annoying and ordinary in every way where it's not annoying.

and you might be re-editing your list after you see the wrestler. i just saw it last night and it's grrreat!

lastly, no dark knight = single tear...
